Investing.com – Turkey equities were lower at the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Wholesale & Retail Trade, Sports and Banking sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 declined 3.29% to hit a new 1-month low.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BIST 100 were Do-Co (IS:DOCO), which rose 1.69% or 5.40 points to trade at 324.40 at the close. Ulker Biskuvi (IS:ULKER) unchanged 0.00% or 0.00 points to end at 21.40 and Ihlas Holding (IS:IHLAS) was unchanged 0.00% or 0.000 points to 0.220 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Bagfas (IS:BAGFS), which lost 10.23% or 1.63 points to trade at 14.30 in late trade. Aksa (IS:AKSA) declined 7.77% or 0.75 points to end at 8.90 and Ipek Dogal Enerji (IS:IPEKE) shed 7.52% or 0.100 points to 1.230.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 337 to 40 and 34 ended unchanged on the Istanbul Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold for June delivery was down 0.63% or 8.15 to $1287.65 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in June fell 2.59% or 1.16 to hit $43.62 a barrel, while the July Brent oil contract fell 1.85% or 0.85 to trade at $44.98 a barrel.
USD/TRY was up 1.54% to 2.8480, while EUR/TRY rose 1.25% to 3.2768.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.41% at 92.91.
