Investing.com – Turkey equities were lower at the close on Thursday, as losses in the Transport, Banking and Telecoms sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 fell 2.36%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BIST 100 were Ihlas Holding (IS:IHLAS), which rose 3.70% or 0.010 points to trade at 0.270 at the close. Gozde Girisim (IS:GOZDE) added 3.39% or 0.100 points to end at 3.050 and Ford Otosan (IS:FROTO) was up 1.69% or 0.55 points to 33.05 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Aksa (IS:AKSA), which lost 4.85% or 0.55 points to trade at 10.80 in late trade. Teknosa IC Ve Dis Ticaret (IS:TKNSA) declined 4.79% or 0.380 points to end at 7.560 and Migros Ticaret (IS:MGROS) shed 4.68% or 1.05 points to 21.40.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 304 to 102 and 10 ended unchanged on the Istanbul Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold for June delivery was down 2.50% or 30.20 to $1179.80 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in June rose 0.94% or 0.55 to hit $59.13 a barrel, while the June Brent oil contract rose 0.80% or 0.53 to trade at $66.36 a barrel.
USD/TRY was up 0.57% to 2.6755, while EUR/TRY rose 0.96% to 2.9899.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.04% at 95.27.
