Investing.com – Turkey equities were lower at the close on Monday, as losses in the Sports, Textile & Leather and Transport sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 declined 2.14%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BIST 100 were Afyon Cimento (IS:AFYON), which rose 20.97% or 2.60 points to trade at 15.00 at the close. Adel Kalemcilik (IS:ADEL) added 2.89% or 2.00 points to end at 71.20 and Gsd Holding (IS:GSDHO) was up 1.96% or 0.030 points to 1.560 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Tat Konserve (IS:TATGD), which lost 6.31% or 0.440 points to trade at 6.530 in late trade. Fenerbahce Futbol (IS:FENER) declined 4.80% or 1.90 points to end at 37.70 and Alarko Gmyo (IS:ALGYO) shed 4.40% or 1.10 points to 23.90.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 343 to 58 and 14 ended unchanged on the Istanbul Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold for August delivery was up 0.36% or 4.20 to $1177.40 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in August fell 1.95% or 1.16 to hit $58.47 a barrel, while the August Brent oil contract fell 2.05% or 1.29 to trade at $61.97 a barrel.
USD/TRY was up 1.15% to 2.6961, while EUR/TRY rose 1.25% to 3.0143.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.25% at 95.36.
