Investing.com – Turkey equities were lower at the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Telecoms, Banking and Financials sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 fell 1.45%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BIST 100 were Hurriyet Gzt. (IS:HURGZ), which rose 3.08% or 0.020 points to trade at 0.670 at the close. Tav Havalimanlari (IS:TAVHL) added 3.03% or 0.65 points to end at 22.10 and Net Turizm (IS:NTTUR) was up 2.01% or 0.030 points to 1.520 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Afyon Cimento (IS:AFYON), which lost 19.35% or 3.60 points to trade at 15.00 in late trade. Vestel Beyaz Esya (IS:VESBE) declined 4.51% or 0.600 points to end at 12.700 and Ihlas Holding (IS:IHLAS) shed 4.35% or 0.010 points to 0.230.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 319 to 89 and 7 ended unchanged on the Istanbul Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold for August delivery was up 0.74% or 8.50 to $1161.10 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in August fell 2.33% or 1.22 to hit $51.11 a barrel, while the August Brent oil contract fell 1.03% or 0.58 to trade at $56.27 a barrel.
USD/TRY was down 0.16% to 2.6810, while EUR/TRY rose 0.44% to 2.9707.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.54% at 96.36.
