Investing.com – Turkey equities were lower at the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Sports, Banking and Electricity sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 lost 0.96%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BIST 100 were Net Turizm (IS:NTTUR), which rose 22.13% or 0.270 points to trade at 1.490 at the close. Anadolu Efes (IS:AEFES) added 4.88% or 1.20 points to end at 25.80 and Netas Telekomunikasyon AS (IS:NETAS) was up 4.58% or 0.41 points to 9.36 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Afyon Cimento (IS:AFYON), which lost 19.31% or 4.45 points to trade at 18.60 in late trade. Fenerbahce Futbol (IS:FENER) declined 4.30% or 1.80 points to end at 40.10 and Koza Madencilik (IS:KOZAA) shed 3.91% or 0.110 points to 2.700.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 237 to 166 and 12 ended unchanged on the Istanbul Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold for August delivery was down 0.99% or 11.60 to $1155.00 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in August fell 1.47% or 0.78 to hit $52.23 a barrel, while the August Brent oil contract fell 0.73% or 0.41 to trade at $56.74 a barrel.
USD/TRY was up 0.60% to 2.6942, while EUR/TRY fell 0.40% to 2.9501.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.83% at 97.23.
