Investing.com – Turkey equities were lower at the close on Friday, as losses in the Sports, Banking and Textile & Leather sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 lost 0.88%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BIST 100 were Ihlas Holding (IS:IHLAS), which rose 3.70% or 0.010 points to trade at 0.270 at the close. Dogus Otomotiv (IS:DOAS) added 3.40% or 0.55 points to end at 16.75 and Tofas Oto. Fab. (IS:TOASO) was up 1.91% or 0.35 points to 18.65 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Galatasaray Sportif (IS:GSRAY), which lost 18.29% or 7.50 points to trade at 33.50 in late trade. Ipek Dogal Enerji (IS:IPEKE) declined 11.61% or 0.360 points to end at 2.740 and Koza Madencilik (IS:KOZAA) shed 10.70% or 0.290 points to 2.420.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 296 to 107 and 10 ended unchanged on the Istanbul Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold for June delivery was up 0.12% or 1.40 to $1205.50 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in July fell 1.60% or 0.97 to hit $59.75 a barrel, while the July Brent oil contract fell 1.77% or 1.18 to trade at $65.36 a barrel.
USD/TRY was up 0.08% to 2.5905, while EUR/TRY fell 0.64% to 2.8575.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.72% at 96.16.
