Investing.com – Turkey equities were lower at the close on Thursday, as losses in the Banking, Food & Beverages and Financials sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 lost 0.86% to hit a new 1-month low.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BIST 100 were AK Enerji (IS:AKENR), which rose 8.85% or 0.100 points to trade at 1.230 at the close. Logo Yazilim (IS:LOGO) added 6.03% or 2.890 points to end at 50.850 and Kordsa Global (IS:KORDS) was up 5.42% or 0.30 points to 5.84 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Ihlas Holding (IS:IHLAS), which lost 4.55% or 0.010 points to trade at 0.210 in late trade. Anadolu Efes (IS:AEFES) declined 4.22% or 0.85 points to end at 19.27 and Yapi Ve Kredi Bank. (IS:YKBNK) shed 4.18% or 0.170 points to 3.900.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 206 to 145 and 60 ended unchanged on the Istanbul Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold for June delivery was up 0.24% or 3.10 to $1277.50 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in June rose 2.51% or 1.10 to hit $44.88 a barrel, while the July Brent oil contract rose 2.06% or 0.92 to trade at $45.54 a barrel.
USD/TRY was down 1.30% to 2.9244, while EUR/TRY fell 2.00% to 3.3377.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.51% at 93.75.
