Investing.com – Turkey equities were lower at the close on Thursday, as losses in the Textile & Leather, Wood, Paper & Printing and Banking sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 fell 0.58%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BIST 100 were Ihlas Holding (IS:IHLAS), which rose 9.68% or 0.030 points to trade at 0.340 at the close. Zorlu Enerji (IS:ZOREN) added 2.74% or 0.040 points to end at 1.500 and Pegasus (IS:PGSUS) was up 2.73% or 0.400 points to 15.070 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Odas Elektrik (IS:ODAS), which lost 4.51% or 0.420 points to trade at 8.890 in late trade. Dogan Holding (IS:DOHOL) declined 4.49% or 0.040 points to end at 0.850 and Karsan Otomotiv (IS:KARSN) shed 3.45% or 0.040 points to 1.120.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 265 to 96 and 47 ended unchanged on the Istanbul Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold for February delivery was down 0.80% or 9.75 to $1202.35 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in February rose 0.67% or 0.34 to hit $51.42 a barrel, while the March Brent oil contract rose 0.52% or 0.28 to trade at $54.20 a barrel.
USD/TRY was up 0.91% to 3.8312, while EUR/TRY rose 0.89% to 4.0752.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.08% at 101.39.
