Investing.com – Turkey equities were lower at the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Banking, Financials and Basic Metals sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 lost 0.52%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BIST 100 were Alarko Holding (IS:ALARK), which rose 6.34% or 0.270 points to trade at 4.530 at the close. Alcatel Lucent Teletas (IS:ALCTL) added 3.88% or 0.270 points to end at 7.230 and Alarko Gmyo (IS:ALGYO) was up 3.23% or 1.04 points to 33.24 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Torunlar Gmyo (IS:TRGYO), which lost 3.13% or 0.14 points to trade at 4.34 in late trade. Tekfen Holding (IS:TKFEN) declined 3.07% or 0.22 points to end at 6.95 and Gubre Fabrik. (IS:GUBRF) shed 3.06% or 0.14 points to 4.43.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 242 to 90 and 73 ended unchanged on the Istanbul Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold for December delivery was down 0.02% or 0.25 to $1224.25 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in December rose 0.41% or 0.19 to hit $46.00 a barrel, while the January Brent oil contract rose 0.26% or 0.12 to trade at $47.07 a barrel.
USD/TRY was up 0.96% to 3.3214, while EUR/TRY rose 0.53% to 3.5445.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.39% at 100.59.
