Investing.com – Turkey equities were lower at the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Chemical, Petroleum & Plastic, Banking and Transport sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 fell 0.47%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BIST 100 were Aselsan Elektronik Sanayi ve Ticaret AS (IS:ASELS), which rose 6.54% or 1.44 points to trade at 23.46 at the close. Tesco Kipa Kitle Pazarlama Ticaret Lojistik ve Gida Sanayi AS (IS:KIPA) added 6.25% or 0.160 points to end at 2.720 and Gozde Girisim Sermayesi Yatirim Ortakligi AS (IS:GOZDE) was up 4.87% or 0.150 points to 3.230 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Afyon Cimento Sanayi TAS (IS:AFYON), which lost 4.70% or 0.46 points to trade at 9.32 in late trade. Metro Ticari ve Mali Yatirimlar Holding AS (IS:METRO) declined 2.48% or 0.030 points to end at 1.180 and SASA Polyester Sanayi AS (IS:SASA) shed 2.43% or 0.190 points to 7.640.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 207 to 139 and 60 ended unchanged on the Istanbul Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for August delivery was up 0.69% or 8.57 to $1242.27 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in August rose 0.46% or 0.21 to hit $46.23 a barrel, while the September Brent oil contract rose 0.58% or 0.28 to trade at $48.70 a barrel.
USD/TRY was down 0.18% to 3.5220, while EUR/TRY rose 0.64% to 4.0794.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.62% at 94.33.
