Investing.com – Turkey equities were lower at the close on Friday, as losses in the Sports, Metal Products & Machinery and Food & Beverages sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 fell 0.39%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BIST 100 were Tat Konserve (IS:TATGD), which rose 6.27% or 0.390 points to trade at 6.610 at the close. Albaraka Turk (IS:ALBRK) added 4.61% or 0.070 points to end at 1.590 and Ipek Dogal Enerji (IS:IPEKE) was up 2.70% or 0.080 points to 3.040 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Ihlas Holding (IS:IHLAS), which lost 4.17% or 0.010 points to trade at 0.230 in late trade. Vestel Beyaz Esya (IS:VESBE) declined 2.90% or 0.300 points to end at 10.050 and Hurriyet Gzt. (IS:HURGZ) shed 2.70% or 0.020 points to 0.720.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 248 to 149 and 17 ended unchanged on the Istanbul Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold for August delivery was down 0.02% or 0.20 to $1180.20 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in July fell 1.37% or 0.83 to hit $59.94 a barrel, while the July Brent oil contract fell 1.28% or 0.83 to trade at $64.28 a barrel.
USD/TRY was up 0.65% to 2.7203, while EUR/TRY rose 0.79% to 3.0684.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.17% at 94.81.
