Investing.com – Turkey equities were lower at the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Telecoms, Transport and Sports sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 lost 0.28% to hit a new 3-month low.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BIST 100 were Logo Yazilim (IS:LOGO), which rose 4.77% or 2.300 points to trade at 50.500 at the close. Tupras (IS:TUPRS) added 4.26% or 2.80 points to end at 68.50 and Anadolu Efes (IS:AEFES) was up 3.50% or 0.61 points to 18.03 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Ihlas Holding (IS:IHLAS), which lost 6.67% or 0.020 points to trade at 0.280 in late trade. Metro Holding (IS:METRO) declined 5.56% or 0.050 points to end at 0.850 and Celebi (IS:CLEBI) shed 3.84% or 0.78 points to 19.54.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 258 to 92 and 59 ended unchanged on the Istanbul Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold for February delivery was down 1.22% or 14.55 to $1176.25 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in January rose 7.05% or 3.19 to hit $48.42 a barrel, while the February Brent oil contract rose 7.50% or 3.55 to trade at $50.87 a barrel.
USD/TRY was up 0.70% to 3.4348, while EUR/TRY rose 0.10% to 3.6349.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.67% at 101.66.
