Investing.com – Turkey equities were lower at the close on Thursday, as losses in the Wood, Paper & Printing, Telecoms and Wholesale & Retail Trade sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 fell 0.23%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BIST 100 were Yazicilar Holding (IS:YAZIC), which rose 3.38% or 0.45 points to trade at 13.78 at the close. Kardemir Karabuk Demir Celik Sanayi ve Ticaret D (IS:KRDMD) added 2.82% or 0.040 points to end at 1.460 and Petkim (IS:PETKM) was up 1.83% or 0.080 points to 4.460 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Ipek Dogal Enerji (IS:IPEKE), which lost 4.76% or 0.040 points to trade at 0.800 in late trade. Dogan Holding (IS:DOHOL) declined 3.95% or 0.030 points to end at 0.730 and Gubre Fabrik. (IS:GUBRF) shed 3.64% or 0.20 points to 5.30.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 180 to 147 and 79 ended unchanged on the Istanbul Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold for December delivery was up 0.52% or 6.95 to $1355.75 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in September rose 2.69% or 1.26 to hit $48.05 a barrel, while the October Brent oil contract rose 1.69% or 0.84 to trade at $50.69 a barrel.
USD/TRY was up 0.21% to 2.9287, while EUR/TRY rose 0.59% to 3.3209.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.42% at 94.29.
