Investing.com – Turkey equities were lower at the close on Thursday, as losses in the Wood, Paper & Printing, Banking and Sports sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 declined 0.15%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BIST 100 were Afyon Cimento (IS:AFYON), which rose 15.05% or 0.90 points to trade at 6.88 at the close. Alkim Kimya (IS:ALKIM) added 3.82% or 0.50 points to end at 13.60 and Torunlar Gmyo (IS:TRGYO) was up 2.65% or 0.09 points to 3.49 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Ihlas Holding (IS:IHLAS), which lost 4.17% or 0.010 points to trade at 0.240 in late trade. Vestel (IS:VESTL) declined 4.09% or 0.190 points to end at 4.460 and Dogan Holding (IS:DOHOL) shed 3.28% or 0.020 points to 0.590.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 211 to 180 and 19 ended unchanged on the Istanbul Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold for December delivery was up 0.68% or 8.00 to $1187.80 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in November fell 1.99% or 0.93 to hit $45.71 a barrel, while the December Brent oil contract fell 1.00% or 0.49 to trade at $49.20 a barrel.
USD/TRY was down 0.90% to 2.8876, while EUR/TRY fell 1.40% to 3.2973.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.32% at 94.28.
