Investing.com – Turkey equities were lower at the close on Monday, as losses in the Banking, Information Technology and Electricity sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 declined 0.07% to hit a new 52-week low.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BIST 100 were Tumosan Motor Ve Traktor (IS:TMSN), which rose 10.53% or 0.650 points to trade at 6.820 at the close. Koza Altin (IS:KOZAL) added 6.48% or 1.25 points to end at 20.55 and Tav Havalimanlari (IS:TAVHL) was up 4.36% or 1.00 points to 23.95 in late trade.
Biggest losers included T. Halk Bankasi (IS:HALKB), which lost 5.35% or 0.54 points to trade at 9.56 in late trade. Tat Konserve (IS:TATGD) declined 3.18% or 0.210 points to end at 6.390 and Galatasaray Sportif (IS:GSRAY) shed 2.70% or 0.60 points to 21.65.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 260 to 140 and 10 ended unchanged on the Istanbul Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold for December delivery was up 0.36% or 4.00 to $1107.30 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in October fell 1.59% or 0.71 to hit $43.92 a barrel, while the November Brent oil contract fell 2.81% or 1.38 to trade at $47.66 a barrel.
USD/TRY was up 0.39% to 3.0585, while EUR/TRY rose 0.13% to 3.4611.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.02% at 95.40.
