Investing.com – Turkey equities were lower at the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Banking, Financials and Holdings & Investments sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 declined 3.62% to hit a new 6-month low.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BIST 100 were Papilon Savunma Guvenlik Sistemleri (IS:PAPIL), which rose 9.99% or 7.20 points to trade at 79.30 at the close. Altinay Savunma Teknolojileri AS (IS:ALTNY) added 4.45% or 4.05 points to end at 95.00 and Koza Altin Isletmeleri AS (IS:KOZAL) was up 3.58% or 0.78 points to 22.56 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Adel Kalemcilik Ticaret ve Sanayi AS (IS:ADEL), which lost 8.65% or 3.20 points to trade at 33.80 in late trade. Akbank TAS (IS:AKBNK) declined 8.33% or 4.80 points to end at 52.85 and Alfa Solar Enerji AS (IS:ALFAS) shed 7.41% or 4.10 points to 51.20.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 511 to 58 and 10 ended unchanged on the Istanbul Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was down 0.75% or 20.05 to $2,670.25 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in November rose 0.72% or 0.50 to hit $70.33 a barrel, while the December Brent oil contract rose 0.65% or 0.48 to trade at $74.04 a barrel.
USD/TRY was up 0.03% to 34.22, while EUR/TRY fell 0.10% to 37.78.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.43% at 101.36.
