Investing.com – Turkey equities were lower at the close on Monday, as losses in the Banking, Financials and Transport sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 fell 1.42%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BIST 100 were Ipek Dogal Enerji Kaynaklari Arastirma ve Uretim AS (IS:IPEKE), which rose 7.84% or 0.410 points to trade at 5.640 at the close. Turk Telekomunikasyon AS (IS:TTKOM) added 4.12% or 0.15 points to end at 3.79 and Celebi Hava Servisi AS (IS:CLEBI) was up 3.88% or 2.00 points to 53.50 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Turkiye Garanti Bankasi (IS:GARAN), which lost 4.80% or 0.37 points to trade at 7.34 in late trade. Yatas Yatak ve Yorgan Sanayi Ticaret AS (IS:YATAS) declined 4.37% or 0.190 points to end at 4.160 and Tat Gida Sanayi AS (IS:TATGD) shed 3.79% or 0.170 points to 4.310.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 227 to 120 and 59 ended unchanged on the Istanbul Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was down 0.29% or 3.50 to $1192.70 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in November rose 1.82% or 1.33 to hit $74.58 a barrel, while the December Brent oil contract rose 1.90% or 1.57 to trade at $84.30 a barrel.
USD/TRY was down 1.81% to 5.9464, while EUR/TRY fell 2.14% to 6.8828.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.18% at 94.97.
