Investing.com – Turkey equities were lower at the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Leasing & Factoring, Basic Metals and Telecoms sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 lost 1.33%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BIST 100 were Izmir Demir Celik Sanayi AS (IS:IZMDC), which rose 16.59% or 0.370 points to trade at 2.600 at the close. Teknosa Ic ve Dis Ticaret AS (IS:TKNSA) added 7.51% or 0.250 points to end at 3.580 and Hurriyet Gazetecilik ve Matbaacilik AS (IS:HURGZ) was up 4.65% or 0.060 points to 1.350 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Metro Ticari ve Mali Yatirimlar Holding AS (IS:METRO), which lost 4.76% or 0.050 points to trade at 1.000 in late trade. Alkim Alkali Kimya AS (IS:ALKIM) declined 4.69% or 1.00 points to end at 20.30 and Trakya Cam Sanayi AS (IS:TRKCM) shed 4.36% or 0.190 points to 4.170.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 247 to 99 and 60 ended unchanged on the Istanbul Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for June delivery was down 0.03% or 0.40 to $1303.30 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in July fell 2.77% or 1.88 to hit $66.00 a barrel, while the August Brent oil contract fell 0.81% or 0.61 to trade at $74.71 a barrel.
USD/TRY was down 0.76% to 4.5479, while EUR/TRY fell 1.40% to 5.2561.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.40% at 94.74.
