Investing.com – Turkey equities were lower at the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Transport, Wholesale & Retail Trade and Sports sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 declined 1.19% to hit a new 52-week low.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BIST 100 were Anadolu Cam Sanayi AS (IS:ANACM), which rose 4.41% or 0.120 points to trade at 2.840 at the close. Global Yatirim Holding AS (IS:GLYHO) added 4.30% or 0.160 points to end at 3.880 and Trakya Cam Sanayi AS (IS:TRKCM) was up 3.94% or 0.150 points to 3.960 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Yapi ve Kredi Bankasi AS (IS:YKBNK), which lost 35.56% or 1.330 points to trade at 2.410 in late trade. Turk Traktor ve Ziraat Makineleri AS (IS:TTRAK) declined 9.72% or 5.65 points to end at 52.50 and Koza Altin Isletmeleri AS (IS:KOZAL) shed 5.54% or 2.85 points to 48.60.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 277 to 84 and 46 ended unchanged on the Istanbul Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for August delivery was up 0.15% or 1.90 to $1304.10 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in July fell 1.30% or 0.85 to hit $64.67 a barrel, while the August Brent oil contract fell 0.42% or 0.32 to trade at $75.06 a barrel.
USD/TRY was down 0.89% to 4.5584, while EUR/TRY fell 0.40% to 5.3682.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.32% at 93.55.
