Investing.com – Turkey equities were lower at the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Sports, Insurance and Transport sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 lost 0.90%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BIST 100 were Katilimevim Tasarruf Finansman AS (IS:KTLEV), which rose 9.98% or 4.72 points to trade at 52.00 at the close. Tab Gida Sanayi ve Ticaret AS (IS:TABGD) added 5.78% or 10.00 points to end at 182.90 and 1000 Yatirimlar Holding AS (IS:BINHO) was up 4.70% or 18.50 points to 411.75 in late trade.
Biggest losers included SASA Polyester Sanayi AS (IS:SASA), which lost 4.84% or 0.26 points to trade at 5.11 in late trade. Agrotech Yuksek Teknoloji ve Yatirim AS (IS:AGROT) declined 3.76% or 0.70 points to end at 17.94 and Turkiye Sinai Kalkinma Bankasi AS (IS:TSKB) shed 3.44% or 0.39 points to 10.94.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 348 to 203 and 21 ended unchanged on the Istanbul Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was down 0.91% or 22.75 to $2,485.05 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in September fell 0.87% or 0.68 to hit $77.67 a barrel, while the October Brent oil contract fell 0.30% or 0.24 to trade at $80.45 a barrel.
USD/TRY was unchanged 0.01% to 33.53, while EUR/TRY rose 0.39% to 37.01.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.09% at 102.29.
