Investing.com – Turkey equities were lower at the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Transport, Sports and Holdings & Investments sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 lost 0.60% to hit a new 1-month low.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BIST 100 were Zorlu Enerji Elektrik Uretim AS (IS:ZOREN), which rose 12.15% or 0.130 points to trade at 1.200 at the close. Tofas Turk Otomobil Fabrikasi AS (IS:TOASO) added 9.42% or 1.75 points to end at 20.32 and Arcelik AS (IS:ARCLK) was up 6.92% or 1.00 points to 15.45 in late trade.
Biggest losers included TAV Havalimanlari Holding (IS:TAVHL), which lost 9.78% or 2.66 points to trade at 24.54 in late trade. Celebi Hava Servisi AS (IS:CLEBI) declined 5.82% or 3.35 points to end at 54.25 and Turk Hava Yollari AO (IS:THYAO) shed 5.56% or 0.860 points to 14.600.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 244 to 124 and 38 ended unchanged on the Istanbul Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was down 0.51% or 6.30 to $1226.20 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in December fell 0.64% or 0.43 to hit $66.61 a barrel, while the January Brent oil contract fell 0.97% or 0.75 to trade at $76.59 a barrel.
USD/TRY was down 1.05% to 5.5030, while EUR/TRY fell 1.14% to 6.2565.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.29% at 96.63.
