Investing.com – Turkey equities were higher at the close on Friday, as gains in the Insurance, Telecoms and Real Estate Investments sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 gained 2.11% to hit a new 1-month high.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BIST 100 were Koza Madencilik (IS:KOZAA), which rose 12.81% or 0.310 points to trade at 2.730 at the close. Koza Altin (IS:KOZAL) added 5.57% or 1.60 points to end at 30.35 and Emlak Konut Gmyo (IS:EKGYO) was up 5.02% or 0.150 points to 3.140 in late trade.
Biggest losers included AK Enerji (IS:AKENR), which lost 4.88% or 0.060 points to trade at 1.170 in late trade. Dogus Otomotiv (IS:DOAS) declined 3.23% or 0.45 points to end at 13.50 and Ege Endustri (IS:EGEEN) shed 2.45% or 6.50 points to 258.50.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 278 to 122 and 14 ended unchanged on the Istanbul Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold for June delivery was down 1.42% or 16.90 to $1177.40 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in June fell 1.25% or 0.72 to hit $57.02 a barrel, while the June Brent oil contract rose 0.29% or 0.18 to trade at $65.03 a barrel.
USD/TRY was up 0.59% to 2.7174, while EUR/TRY rose 1.00% to 2.9558.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.38% at 97.06.
