Investing.com – Turkey equities were higher at the close on Monday, as gains in the Basic Metals, Metal Products & Machinery and Textile & Leather sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 rose 1.73%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BIST 100 were Vestel Beyaz Esya (IS:VESBE), which rose 11.95% or 1.190 points to trade at 11.150 at the close. Tesco Kipa (IS:KIPA) added 9.85% or 0.130 points to end at 1.450 and Vestel (IS:VESTL) was up 9.28% or 0.590 points to 6.950 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Celebi (IS:CLEBI), which lost 2.41% or 0.56 points to trade at 22.64 in late trade. Tumosan Motor Ve Traktor (IS:TMSN) declined 1.43% or 0.110 points to end at 7.590 and Ipek Dogal Enerji (IS:IPEKE) shed 1.23% or 0.010 points to 0.800.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 278 to 62 and 65 ended unchanged on the Istanbul Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold for December delivery was up 0.13% or 1.75 to $1359.25 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in September fell 3.29% or 1.37 to hit $40.23 a barrel, while the October Brent oil contract fell 3.01% or 1.31 to trade at $42.22 a barrel.
USD/TRY was up 0.11% to 2.9910, while EUR/TRY rose 0.07% to 3.3435.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.07% at 95.60.
