Investing.com – Turkey equities were higher at the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Electricity, Banking and Real Estate Investments sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 added 1.23% to hit a new 1-month high.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BIST 100 were Aksa Enerji (IS:AKSEN), which rose 5.26% or 0.140 points to trade at 2.800 at the close. Teknosa IC Ve Dis Ticaret (IS:TKNSA) added 5.16% or 0.380 points to end at 7.750 and Ipek Dogal Enerji (IS:IPEKE) was up 4.82% or 0.150 points to 3.260 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Ford Otosan (IS:FROTO), which lost 4.02% or 1.55 points to trade at 37.05 in late trade. Global Yat. Holding (IS:GLYHO) declined 3.12% or 0.060 points to end at 1.860 and Soda Sanayii (IS:SODA) shed 3.06% or 0.200 points to 6.340.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 243 to 164 and 8 ended unchanged on the Istanbul Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold for June delivery was up 1.77% or 21.10 to $1213.50 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in June rose 0.63% or 0.38 to hit $61.13 a barrel, while the July Brent oil contract rose 1.25% or 0.84 to trade at $68.22 a barrel.
USD/TRY was down 1.21% to 2.6309, while EUR/TRY rose 0.18% to 2.9926.
The US Dollar Index was down 1.17% at 93.59.
