Investing.com – Turkey equities were higher at the close on Friday, as gains in the Textile & Leather, Tourism and Banking sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 added 1.02%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BIST 100 were Tesco Kipa (IS:KIPA), which rose 6.90% or 0.120 points to trade at 1.860 at the close. Tekfen Holding (IS:TKFEN) added 4.82% or 0.34 points to end at 7.39 and Odas Elektrik (IS:ODAS) was up 4.19% or 0.390 points to 9.690 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Ipek Dogal Enerji (IS:IPEKE), which lost 3.88% or 0.040 points to trade at 0.990 in late trade. Ihlas Holding (IS:IHLAS) declined 3.33% or 0.010 points to end at 0.290 and Anadolu Efes (IS:AEFES) shed 3.23% or 0.60 points to 17.96.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 225 to 112 and 70 ended unchanged on the Istanbul Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold for August delivery was down 0.60% or 7.85 to $1290.55 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in July rose 2.92% or 1.35 to hit $47.56 a barrel, while the August Brent oil contract rose 3.18% or 1.50 to trade at $48.69 a barrel.
USD/TRY was down 0.02% to 2.9296, while EUR/TRY rose 0.27% to 3.2995.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.35% at 94.44.
