Investing.com – Turkey equities were higher at the close on Monday, as gains in the Transport, Sports and Electricity sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 gained 0.62%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BIST 100 were Galatasaray Sportif Sinai ve Ticari Yatirimlar AS (IS:GSRAY), which rose 11.89% or 3.48 points to trade at 32.76 at the close. ODAS Elektrik Uretim Sanayi Ticaret AS (IS:ODAS) added 4.50% or 0.180 points to end at 4.180 and Izmir Demir Celik Sanayi AS (IS:IZMDC) was up 3.51% or 0.110 points to 3.240 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Otokar Otomotiv ve Savunma Sanayi AS (IS:OTKAR), which lost 1.66% or 2.20 points to trade at 130.70 in late trade. Global Yatirim Holding AS (IS:GLYHO) declined 1.65% or 0.050 points to end at 2.980 and GSD Holding AS (IS:GSDHO) shed 1.52% or 0.010 points to 0.650.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 206 to 127 and 72 ended unchanged on the Istanbul Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for June delivery was up 0.42% or 5.15 to $1232.85 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in June rose 2.80% or 1.34 to hit $49.18 a barrel, while the July Brent oil contract rose 2.52% or 1.28 to trade at $52.12 a barrel.
USD/TRY was down 0.74% to 3.5474, while EUR/TRY fell 0.25% to 3.8963.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.30% at 98.75.
