Investing.com – Turkey equities were higher at the close on Monday, as gains in the Electricity, Leasing & Factoring and Tourism sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 gained 0.58%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BIST 100 were Park Elek. Madencilik (IS:PRKME), which rose 5.00% or 0.130 points to trade at 2.730 at the close. AK Enerji (IS:AKENR) added 4.85% or 0.050 points to end at 1.080 and Borusan Mannesmann (IS:BRSAN) was up 4.03% or 0.31 points to 8.01 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Kordsa Global (IS:KORDS), which lost 2.80% or 0.17 points to trade at 5.91 in late trade. Tekfen Holding (IS:TKFEN) declined 2.55% or 0.18 points to end at 6.87 and Tesco Kipa (IS:KIPA) shed 2.05% or 0.050 points to 2.390.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 195 to 129 and 85 ended unchanged on the Istanbul Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold for August delivery was up 0.36% or 4.45 to $1247.35 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in July rose 2.06% or 1.00 to hit $49.62 a barrel, while the August Brent oil contract rose 1.63% or 0.81 to trade at $50.45 a barrel.
USD/TRY was up 0.20% to 2.9086, while EUR/TRY rose 0.12% to 3.3034.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.14% at 94.03.
