Investing.com – Turkey equities were higher at the close on Friday, as gains in the Sports, Metal Products & Machinery and Insurance sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 gained 0.32%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BIST 100 were Afyon Cimento (IS:AFYON), which rose 21.33% or 2.18 points to trade at 12.40 at the close. Fenerbahce Futbol (IS:FENER) added 5.74% or 2.15 points to end at 39.60 and Ege Endustri (IS:EGEEN) was up 4.61% or 10.50 points to 238.50 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Gsd Holding (IS:GSDHO), which lost 4.97% or 0.080 points to trade at 1.530 in late trade. Konya Cimento (IS:KONYA) declined 4.60% or 18.50 points to end at 384.00 and Net Turizm (IS:NTTUR) shed 3.12% or 0.040 points to 1.240.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 210 to 191 and 14 ended unchanged on the Istanbul Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold for August delivery was up 0.05% or 0.60 to $1172.40 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in August fell 0.15% or 0.09 to hit $59.61 a barrel, while the August Brent oil contract rose 0.15% or 0.10 to trade at $63.30 a barrel.
USD/TRY was up 0.37% to 2.6656, while EUR/TRY fell 0.12% to 2.9739.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.36% at 95.72.
