Investing.com – Turkey equities were higher at the close on Monday, as gains in the Wood, Paper & Printing, Banking and Chemical, Petroleum & Plastic sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 rose 0.26%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BIST 100 were Hurriyet Gzt. (IS:HURGZ), which rose 6.25% or 0.050 points to trade at 0.850 at the close. Dogan Holding (IS:DOHOL) added 3.90% or 0.030 points to end at 0.800 and Ihlas Holding (IS:IHLAS) was up 3.03% or 0.010 points to 0.340 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Galatasaray Sportif (IS:GSRAY), which lost 6.35% or 2.50 points to trade at 36.90 in late trade. Tat Konserve (IS:TATGD) declined 3.06% or 0.180 points to end at 5.700 and Tav Havalimanlari (IS:TAVHL) shed 2.60% or 0.34 points to 12.72.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 182 to 152 and 71 ended unchanged on the Istanbul Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold for December delivery was down 0.07% or 0.95 to $1275.85 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in December fell 3.16% or 1.54 to hit $47.16 a barrel, while the January Brent oil contract fell 3.41% or 1.73 to trade at $48.95 a barrel.
USD/TRY was down 0.37% to 3.0952, while EUR/TRY fell 0.60% to 3.3982.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.05% at 98.36.
