Investing.com – Turkey equities were higher at the close on Thursday, as gains in the Telecoms, Real Estate Investments and Sports sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 rose 0.16%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BIST 100 were Afyon Cimento (IS:AFYON), which rose 6.14% or 9.00 points to trade at 155.50 at the close. Vestel Beyaz Esya (IS:VESBE) added 4.31% or 0.500 points to end at 12.100 and Ihlas Holding (IS:IHLAS) was up 3.70% or 0.010 points to 0.270 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Adel Kalemcilik (IS:ADEL), which lost 4.74% or 3.50 points to trade at 70.35 in late trade. Koza Madencilik (IS:KOZAA) declined 3.61% or 0.100 points to end at 2.670 and Koza Altin (IS:KOZAL) shed 3.35% or 0.90 points to 26.00.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 250 to 153 and 9 ended unchanged on the Istanbul Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold for June delivery was down 0.61% or 7.30 to $1183.00 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in June fell 1.89% or 1.15 to hit $59.78 a barrel, while the June Brent oil contract fell 1.94% or 1.31 to trade at $66.45 a barrel.
USD/TRY was down 0.27% to 2.6844, while EUR/TRY fell 0.85% to 3.0309.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.57% at 94.73.
