Investing.com – Turkey equities were higher at the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Insurance, Basic Metals and Textile & Leather sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 added 0.07%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BIST 100 were AvivaSA Emeklilik ve Hayat AS (IS:AVISA), which rose 8.39% or 3.90 points to trade at 50.40 at the close. Erbosan (IS:ERBOS) added 5.65% or 1.85 points to end at 34.60 and Dogus Otomotiv (IS:DOAS) was up 5.32% or 0.80 points to 15.85 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Afyon Cimento (IS:AFYON), which lost 19.41% or 2.95 points to trade at 12.25 in late trade. Koza Altin (IS:KOZAL) declined 5.17% or 1.30 points to end at 23.85 and Ihlas Holding (IS:IHLAS) shed 4.17% or 0.010 points to 0.240.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 224 to 173 and 13 ended unchanged on the Istanbul Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold for December delivery was down 0.10% or 1.10 to $1095.60 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in September rose 2.19% or 1.05 to hit $49.03 a barrel, while the September Brent oil contract rose 0.82% or 0.43 to trade at $53.73 a barrel.
USD/TRY was up 0.16% to 2.7645, while EUR/TRY fell 0.16% to 3.0484.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.20% at 96.96.
