Investing.com – Turkey equities were higher at the close on Thursday, as gains in the Banking, Financials and Telecoms sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 added 2.08% to hit a new all time high.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BIST 100 were Anadolu Cam Sanayi AS (IS:ANACM), which rose 5.76% or 0.140 points to trade at 2.570 at the close. Izmir Demir Celik Sanayi AS (IS:IZMDC) added 4.82% or 0.150 points to end at 3.260 and Turkiye Vakiflar Bankasi TAO (IS:VAKBN) was up 4.17% or 0.270 points to 6.740 in late trade.
Biggest losers included SASA Polyester Sanayi AS (IS:SASA), which lost 3.29% or 0.390 points to trade at 11.480 in late trade. Tesco Kipa Kitle Pazarlama Ticaret Lojistik ve Gida Sanayi AS (IS:KIPA) declined 1.13% or 0.030 points to end at 2.620 and Ipek Dogal Enerji Kaynaklari Arastirma ve Uretim AS (IS:IPEKE) shed 1.11% or 0.060 points to 5.360.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 269 to 78 and 55 ended unchanged on the Istanbul Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for February delivery was up 0.37% or 4.80 to $1296.20 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in February fell 0.29% or 0.17 to hit $59.47 a barrel, while the March Brent oil contract fell 0.27% or 0.18 to trade at $65.81 a barrel.
USD/TRY was down 1.12% to 3.7737, while EUR/TRY fell 0.73% to 4.5121.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.30% at 92.38.
