Investing.com – Turkey equities were higher at the close on Friday, as gains in the Banking, Tourism and Financials sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 added 1.77% to hit a new all time high.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BIST 100 were Global Yatirim Holding AS (IS:GLYHO), which rose 6.41% or 0.300 points to trade at 4.980 at the close. Turkiye Garanti Bankasi (IS:GARAN) added 5.73% or 0.67 points to end at 12.36 and Vestel Elektronik Sanayi ve Ticaret AS (IS:VESTL) was up 5.26% or 0.510 points to 10.210 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Emlak Konut Gayrimenkul Yatirim Ortakligi AS (IS:EKGYO), which lost 2.18% or 0.060 points to trade at 2.690 in late trade. Celebi Hava Servisi AS (IS:CLEBI) declined 1.93% or 0.68 points to end at 34.60 and Ihlas Holding AS (IS:IHLAS) shed 1.85% or 0.010 points to 0.530.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 253 to 96 and 58 ended unchanged on the Istanbul Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for February delivery was down 0.87% or 11.80 to $1351.10 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in March rose 0.70% or 0.46 to hit $65.97 a barrel, while the March Brent oil contract fell 0.11% or 0.08 to trade at $70.34 a barrel.
USD/TRY was up 0.02% to 3.7515, while EUR/TRY rose 0.30% to 4.6657.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.39% at 88.84.
