Investing.com – Turkey equities were higher at the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Telecoms, Transport and Banking sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 added 1.43%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BIST 100 were ICBC Turkey Bank AS (IS:ICBCT), which rose 9.39% or 0.520 points to trade at 6.060 at the close. Aksa Akrilik Kimya Sanayi AS (IS:AKSA) added 7.55% or 0.84 points to end at 11.96 and Koza Anadolu Metal Madencilik Isletmeleri AS (IS:KOZAA) was up 5.63% or 0.310 points to 5.820 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Ihlas Holding AS (IS:IHLAS), which lost 7.89% or 0.030 points to trade at 0.350 in late trade. Gozde Girisim Sermayesi Yatirim Ortakligi AS (IS:GOZDE) declined 6.36% or 0.260 points to end at 3.830 and Netas Telekomunikasyon AS (IS:NETAS) shed 6.17% or 0.67 points to 10.19.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 224 to 147 and 34 ended unchanged on the Istanbul Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for June delivery was up 0.03% or 0.40 to $1314.10 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in June rose 2.92% or 2.02 to hit $71.08 a barrel, while the July Brent oil contract rose 2.70% or 2.02 to trade at $76.87 a barrel.
USD/TRY was down 0.95% to 4.2910, while EUR/TRY fell 1.03% to 5.0880.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.02% at 92.92.
