Investing.com – Turkey equities were higher at the close on Monday, as gains in the Transport, Insurance and Food & Beverages sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 added 1.15% to hit a new 1-month high.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BIST 100 were Oba Makarnacilik Sanayi ve Ticaret AS (IS:OBAMS), which rose 7.74% or 3.02 points to trade at 42.02 at the close. Ulker Biskuvi Sanayi AS (IS:ULKER) added 6.78% or 7.00 points to end at 110.30 and Smart Gunes Enerjisi Teknolojileri Arastirma Gelistirme Uretim Sanayi ve Ticaret (IS:SMRTG) was up 6.35% or 2.42 points to 40.56 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Tekfen Holding AS (IS:TKFEN), which lost 6.12% or 5.05 points to trade at 77.40 in late trade. Koza Anadolu Metal Madencilik Isletmeleri AS (IS:KOZAA) declined 4.59% or 3.45 points to end at 71.70 and Turkiye Vakiflar Bankasi TAO (IS:VAKBN) shed 3.84% or 0.98 points to 24.54.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 391 to 171 and 13 ended unchanged on the Istanbul Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for February delivery was down 2.78% or 76.15 to $2,661.05 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in January fell 2.47% or 1.76 to hit $69.48 a barrel, while the February Brent oil contract fell 2.34% or 1.75 to trade at $72.88 a barrel.
USD/TRY was up 0.18% to 34.61, while EUR/TRY rose 0.54% to 36.39.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.82% at 106.62.
