Investing.com – Turkey equities were higher at the close on Friday, as gains in the Sports, Transport and Telecoms sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 added 1.14%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BIST 100 were Trabzonspor Sportif Yatirim ve Futbol Isletmeciligi Ticaret AS (IS:TSPOR), which rose 10.00% or 0.11 points to trade at 1.21 at the close. Hektas Ticaret TAS (IS:HEKTS) added 7.93% or 0.31 points to end at 4.22 and Tumosan Motor ve Traktor Sanayi AS (IS:TMSN) was up 6.18% or 7.40 points to 127.10 in late trade.
Biggest losers included LDR Turizm AS (IS:LIDER), which lost 7.36% or 10.90 points to trade at 137.20 in late trade. Smart Gunes Enerjisi Teknolojileri Arastirma Gelistirme Uretim Sanayi ve Ticaret (IS:SMRTG) declined 5.97% or 2.62 points to end at 41.28 and Turkiye Sigorta AS (IS:TURSG) shed 5.48% or 0.93 points to 16.05.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 348 to 211 and 26 ended unchanged on the Istanbul Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for February delivery was down 0.43% or 11.44 to $2,657.56 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in February rose 0.83% or 0.61 to hit $73.74 a barrel, while the March Brent oil contract rose 0.42% or 0.32 to trade at $76.25 a barrel.
USD/TRY was up 0.08% to 35.38, while EUR/TRY rose 0.33% to 36.40.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.22% at 108.97.
