Investing.com – Turkey equities were higher at the close on Thursday, as gains in the Tourism, Sports and Wholesale & Retail Trade sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 added 0.28%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BIST 100 were Tesco Kipa Kitle Pazarlama Ticaret Lojistik ve Gida Sanayi AS (IS:KIPA), which rose 5.77% or 0.120 points to trade at 2.200 at the close. Cemtas Celik Makina Sanayi ve Ticaret AS (IS:CEMTS) added 5.54% or 0.280 points to end at 5.330 and ODAS Elektrik Uretim Sanayi Ticaret AS (IS:ODAS) was up 4.91% or 0.240 points to 5.130 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Hurriyet Gazetecilik ve Matbaacilik AS (IS:HURGZ), which lost 2.94% or 0.040 points to trade at 1.320 in late trade. Ford Otomotiv Sanayi AS (IS:FROTO) declined 2.83% or 1.75 points to end at 60.10 and Ihlas Holding AS (IS:IHLAS) shed 2.33% or 0.010 points to 0.420.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 270 to 101 and 38 ended unchanged on the Istanbul Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for August delivery was down 0.37% or 4.70 to $1251.40 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in August rose 1.04% or 0.76 to hit $73.52 a barrel, while the September Brent oil contract fell 0.09% or 0.07 to trade at $77.39 a barrel.
USD/TRY was down 0.40% to 4.6044, while EUR/TRY fell 0.19% to 5.3375.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.11% at 94.92.
