Proactive Investors - Thor Mining PLC (LON:THRL) said initial drilling confirmed the high uranium prospectivity of its Wedding Bell and Radium Mountain projects in Colorado, US.

Thor said a recently completed a 15-hole drilling programme confirmed uranium mineralisation along strike of historical workings at the Rim Rock and Groundhog prospects, and within the newly tested Section 23 prospect.

"As the first company to access and drill test this highly prospective area, the intersection of uranium bearing reduced sandstones at the newly tested Section 23 prospect is exciting to see, as is the continuity of high-grades along strike of historic workings at both at Rim Rock and Groundhog,” said managing director Nicole Galloway Warland.

Key intersections from Groundhog include 2.1metres (m) at 0.036% uranium oxide, including 0.3m at a grade of 0.14%; and 1.2m at 0.034% uranium oxide, including 0.5m at 0.5%. Highlights from Rim Rock include 0.3m at 0.072% uranium oxide.

The initial results have been determined by downhole gamma logging. Physical samples have been collected within these mineralised zones for laboratory testing of uranium and vanadium with the results anticipated in the first quarter of 2023, said Thor.
