PARIS (Reuters) - Transport companies including Thales, MBDA and Fincantieri have won a contract to renovate French and Italian frigates, the French ministry of defence said on Wednesday.
The contract will entail the renovation of the French ships Forbin and Chevalier Paul, and the Italian ships Andrea Doria and Caio Duilio.
The contract was awarded to Naviris - a joint venture between France's Naval Group and Italy's Fincantieri - and to EUROSAM, which is a venture between Thales and MBDA.
MBDA is a joint venture between Airbus, BAE Systems (LON:BAES) and Italian company Leonardo.
