For months Tesla (NASDAQ:TSLA) has worked with significant record labels to bring Dolby Atmos, a surround sound technology, to its vehicles, according to BGR on Wednesday.
The report states that once upcoming software updates roll out, more than one million Teslas currently on the road will support Dolby Atmos. In addition, it includes all of Tesla's newly manufactured vehicles.
The surround sound technology expands on existing surround sound systems by adding height channels, enabling sounds to be interpreted as three-dimensional objects.
The system is already used by Lucid Group Inc (NASDAQ:LCID) in its Air sedan model, while other vehicle manufacturers, such as Mercedes (OTC:DDAIF), will also install the system in their cars.
Tesla shares are up more than 6% in Wednesday's session, although the stock is still down 53% in 2022.
