A concert film from Taylor Swift smashed box office records in 2023.

The film now heads to streaming. Here's how fans can watch the highly anticipated streaming release of the Taylor Swift concert film.

What Happened: Media giant The Walt Disney Company (NYSE:DIS) shared alongside its first-quarter financial results that it landed the streaming rights to the Taylor Swift concert film.

Disney CEO Bob Iger announced that the streaming release will be “Taylor’s Version,” featuring a rendition of “Cardigan” and four acoustic tracks, debuting in the concert film for the first time.

Officially titled "The Eras Tour (Taylor's Version)," the concert film hits Disney+ on March 14 at 9 p.m. ET. This sets the release date a bit earlier than Disney’s initially announced March 15.

Why It's Important: The original version of the film, without the additional songs, was released in theaters through a partnership between Swift and AMC Entertainment Holdings (NYSE:AMC).

The film grossed $180.8 million domestically and $261.7 million worldwide, breaking records for concert films. The film was also the 11th highest grossing film domestically in 2023.

AMC Entertainment and Live Nation Entertainment (NYSE:LYV) are among the companies that have benefitted from increased demand for the concert film and tickets for Swift concerts.

With the exclusive streaming rights to the highly anticipated concert film, Disney could join the list of companies to benefit from the global superstar.

Disney ended the first quarter with 149.6 million Disney+ subscribers. The company offers several pricing tiers for its plans and could see a brief boost in subscribers during the current quarter thanks to Swift fans wanting to watch the film over and over again.

DIS Price Action: Disney shares trade at $112.55 versus a 52-week trading range of $78.73 to $115.19.
