Investing.com – Taiwan equities were lower at the close on Wednesday, as losses in the , Semiconductor and Electronics sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Taiwan, the Taiwan Weighted declined 2.06%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Taiwan Weighted were J Touch (TW:3584), which rose 10.00% or 0.75 points to trade at 8.25 at the close. Young Fast (TW:3622) added 9.91% or 1.05 points to end at 11.65 and Pec (TW:4916) was up 9.89% or 1.85 points to 20.55 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Y.C.C. (TW:1339), which lost 9.91% or 6.80 points to trade at 61.80 in late trade. Cvilux (TW:8103) declined 9.90% or 2.95 points to end at 26.85 and Sercomm (TW:5388) shed 7.04% or 5.70 points to 75.30.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 713 to 130 on the Taiwan Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for November delivery was unchanged 0.00% or 0.00 to $46.36 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in November fell 0.25% or 0.12 to hit $48.95 a barrel, while the December Gold contract rose 0.08% or 0.90 to trade at $1125.70 a troy ounce.
USD/TWD was down 0.36% to 32.847, while TWD/CNY fell 0.05% to 0.1937.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.07% at 96.56.
