Investing.com – Taiwan equities were lower at the close on Monday, as losses in the , Semiconductor and Computers & Peripherals sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Taiwan, the Taiwan Weighted declined 3.29% to hit a new 1-month low.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Taiwan Weighted were Chia Her Industrial Co Ltd (TW:1449), which rose 10.00% or 1.95 points to trade at 21.45 at the close. Hsin Ba Ba Corp (TW:9906) added 10.00% or 16.50 points to end at 181.50 and Cheer Time Enterprise Co Ltd (TW:3229) was up 9.96% or 2.75 points to 30.35 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Weikeng Industrial Co Ltd (TW:3033), which lost 10.08% or 3.80 points to trade at 33.90 in late trade. Airtac International Group (TW:1590) declined 10.00% or 97.00 points to end at 873.00 and C Sun Manufacturing Ltd (TW:2467) shed 9.89% or 22.50 points to 205.00.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 0 to 0 on the Taiwan Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for September delivery was up 0.58% or 0.45 to $77.61 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in October rose 0.64% or 0.51 to hit $80.79 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract rose 0.53% or 12.75 to trade at $2,440.65 a troy ounce.
USD/TWD was up 0.06% to 32.83, while TWD/CNY unchanged 0.00% to 0.22.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.05% at 104.01.
