Investing.com – Taiwan equities were lower at the close on Tuesday, as losses in the , Other Electronic and Machinery sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Taiwan, the Taiwan Weighted fell 2.68% to hit a new 1-month low.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Taiwan Weighted were Danen Technology Corp (TW:3686), which rose 9.97% or 3.00 points to trade at 33.10 at the close. Evertex Fabrinology Ltd (TW:1470) added 9.87% or 1.95 points to end at 21.70 and Sino Horizon Holdings Ltd (TW:2923) was up 8.79% or 2.50 points to 30.95 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Hitron Technologies Inc (TW:2419), which lost 9.99% or 3.65 points to trade at 32.90 in late trade. Lead Data Inc (TW:2443) declined 9.85% or 0.39 points to end at 3.57 and I-Hwa Industrial Co Ltd (TW:1456) shed 9.81% or 2.35 points to 21.60.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 0 to 0 on the Taiwan Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for September delivery was down 0.15% or 0.12 to $78.28 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in September fell 0.07% or 0.06 to hit $82.34 a barrel, while the August Gold Futures contract fell 0.08% or 2.00 to trade at $2,392.70 a troy ounce.
USD/TWD was down 0.10% to 32.80, while TWD/CNY unchanged 0.09% to 0.22.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.03% at 104.00.
