Investing.com – Taiwan equities were lower at the close on Monday, as losses in the , Semiconductor and Glass sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Taiwan, the Taiwan Weighted fell 2.26%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Taiwan Weighted were Scientech Corp (TW:3583), which rose 9.95% or 38.00 points to trade at 420.00 at the close. I-Hwa Industrial Co Ltd (TW:1456) added 9.86% or 2.15 points to end at 23.95 and Danen Technology Corp (TW:3686) was up 9.85% or 2.70 points to 30.10 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Paragon Technologies Co Ltd (TW:3518), which lost 9.96% or 3.55 points to trade at 32.10 in late trade. Tung Ho Textile Co Ltd (TW:1414) declined 9.92% or 2.55 points to end at 23.15 and Lead Data Inc (TW:2443) shed 9.85% or 0.39 points to 3.57.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 0 to 0 on the Taiwan Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for September delivery was up 0.55% or 0.43 to $79.07 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in September rose 0.59% or 0.49 to hit $83.12 a barrel, while the August Gold Futures contract rose 0.19% or 4.50 to trade at $2,403.60 a troy ounce.
USD/TWD was up 0.29% to 32.89, while TWD/CNY unchanged 0.27% to 0.22.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.05% at 104.06.
