Investing.com – Taiwan equities were lower at the close on Monday, as losses in the , Other Electronic and Electronic Parts/Components sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Taiwan, the Taiwan Weighted declined 1.09% to hit a new 1-month low.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Taiwan Weighted were Gamma Optical Co Ltd (TW:3557), which rose 9.97% or 0.570 points to trade at 6.290 at the close. Ene Technology Inc (TW:6243) added 9.77% or 1.70 points to end at 19.10 and San Chih Semiconductor Inc Ltd (TW:3579) was up 9.71% or 1.50 points to 16.95 in late trade.
Biggest losers included First Steamship Co Ltd (TW:2601), which lost 9.98% or 0.88 points to trade at 7.94 in late trade. Darwin Precisions Corp (TW:6120) declined 9.93% or 2.75 points to end at 24.95 and Walsin Technology Corp (TW:2492) shed 9.92% or 7.80 points to 70.80.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 682 to 141 and 49 ended unchanged on the Taiwan Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for November delivery was down 0.30% or 0.15 to $50.51 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in December fell 0.21% or 0.12 to hit $56.30 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract fell 0.17% or 2.27 to trade at $1295.23 a troy ounce.
USD/TWD was up 0.08% to 30.205, while TWD/CNY fell 0.05% to 0.2181.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.17% at 92.11.
