Investing.com – Taiwan equities were lower at the close on Friday, as losses in the , Semiconductor and Computers & Peripherals sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Taiwan, the Taiwan Weighted fell 0.95%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Taiwan Weighted were Clevo Co (TW:2362), which rose 10.00% or 5.50 points to trade at 60.50 at the close. Formosan Union Chemical Corp (TW:1709) added 10.00% or 2.30 points to end at 25.30 and Hitron Technologies Inc (TW:2419) was up 10.00% or 3.20 points to 35.20 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Lead Data Inc (TW:2443), which lost 9.85% or 0.39 points to trade at 3.57 in late trade. Iron Force Industrial Co Ltd (TW:2228) declined 6.94% or 7.50 points to end at 100.50 and APAQ Technology Co Ltd (TW:6449) shed 5.71% or 11.00 points to 181.50.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 0 to 0 on the Taiwan Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for September delivery was down 0.79% or 0.64 to $80.66 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in September fell 0.60% or 0.51 to hit $84.60 a barrel, while the August Gold Futures contract fell 1.24% or 30.50 to trade at $2,425.90 a troy ounce.
USD/TWD was up 0.17% to 32.76, while TWD/CNY unchanged 0.09% to 0.22.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.14% at 104.03.
