Investing.com – Taiwan equities were lower at the close on Tuesday, as losses in the , Other Electronic and Construction sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Taiwan, the Taiwan Weighted lost 0.65%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Taiwan Weighted were Favite Inc (TW:3535), which rose 9.95% or 4.00 points to trade at 44.20 at the close. Kuangli Photoelectric Technology Co Ltd (TW:6431) added 9.94% or 1.60 points to end at 17.70 and Walton Advanced Engineering Inc (TW:8110) was up 9.90% or 2.05 points to 22.75 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Synnex Technology International Corp (TW:2347), which lost 11.86% or 10.00 points to trade at 74.30 in late trade. Lead Data Inc (TW:2443) declined 9.85% or 0.39 points to end at 3.57 and Radiant Opto-Electronics Corp (TW:6176) shed 9.18% or 19.00 points to 188.00.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 0 to 0 on the Taiwan Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for August delivery was up 0.05% or 0.04 to $81.67 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in September rose 0.02% or 0.02 to hit $85.17 a barrel, while the August Gold Futures contract fell 0.36% or 8.35 to trade at $2,336.05 a troy ounce.
USD/TWD was up 0.09% to 32.40, while TWD/CNY unchanged 0.09% to 0.22.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.02% at 105.10.
