Investing.com – Taiwan equities were lower at the close on Monday, as losses in the , Glass and Optoelectronic sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Taiwan, the Taiwan Weighted lost 0.52%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Taiwan Weighted were Ji-Haw Industrial Co Ltd (TW:3011), which rose 10.00% or 0.70 points to trade at 7.70 at the close. Tah Tong Textile Co Ltd (TW:1441) added 10.00% or 0.81 points to end at 8.91 and Enlight Corp (TW:2438) was up 9.97% or 0.97 points to 10.70 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Chung Hung Steel Corp (TW:2014), which lost 9.96% or 1.35 points to trade at 12.20 in late trade. Sintronic Technology Inc (TW:3536) declined 9.89% or 1.85 points to end at 16.85 and Hai Kwang Enterprise Corp (TW:2038) shed 6.87% or 1.00 points to 13.55.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 608 to 206 and 98 ended unchanged on the Taiwan Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for April delivery was up 0.23% or 0.14 to $61.39 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in May rose 0.30% or 0.19 to hit $64.56 a barrel, while the April Gold Futures contract rose 0.25% or 3.30 to trade at $1326.70 a troy ounce.
USD/TWD was up 0.06% to 29.302, while TWD/CNY fell 0.37% to 0.2160.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.18% at 90.11.
