Investing.com – Taiwan equities were lower at the close on Thursday, as losses in the , Trading & Consumer Goods and Paper & Pulp sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Taiwan, the Taiwan Weighted declined 0.43%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Taiwan Weighted were FarGlory Hotel Co Ltd (TW:2712), which rose 7.69% or 2.20 points to trade at 30.80 at the close. Chun Yu Works & Co Ltd (TW:2012) added 7.63% or 1.40 points to end at 19.75 and Career Technology MFG Co Ltd (TW:6153) was up 6.75% or 3.80 points to 60.10 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Shunsin Technology Holdings Ltd (TW:6451), which lost 9.78% or 13.50 points to trade at 124.50 in late trade. Sumagh High Tech Corp (TW:1475) declined 8.91% or 2.45 points to end at 25.05 and King Yuan Electronics Co Ltd (TW:2449) shed 7.46% or 1.95 points to 24.20.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 473 to 302 and 139 ended unchanged on the Taiwan Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for September delivery was up 0.13% or 0.09 to $67.03 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in October rose 0.26% or 0.19 to hit $72.47 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract rose 0.09% or 1.10 to trade at $1222.10 a troy ounce.
USD/TWD was up 0.11% to 30.623, while TWD/CNY fell 0.27% to 0.2231.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.07% at 95.02.
